This site

Texas Panhandle (texas-panhandle.com) is a local event board. This notice describes the information the site's code collects. It does not describe other event sites.

Contact form

The contact form collects your name, email address, topic, and message. It sends that note to alfred@texas-panhandle.com through AgentMail. Your email is the reply-to address on the message. The form does not store the message in a database.

The form includes a hidden company field. If that field is filled in, the message is not sent. The form allows five messages from one network address each hour. That address stays in server memory for the hour and is not saved as a profile. On the live site, Vercel BotID checks the submission and rejects ones it classifies as bots.

Newsletter

The newsletter signup collects an email address. Notion stores that address, a status of Pending, Subscribed, or Unsubscribed, the time you signed up, whether the signup came from the newsletter page or the home page, an unsubscribe token, and the time a confirmation email was sent.

Signup is double opt-in. The row stays Pending until you open the confirmation link and confirm. Until then you are not subscribed. The confirmation email is sent from events@texas-panhandle.com. The unsubscribe link in that email takes you off the list.

The signup form has a hidden company field. Filling it in does not save the address. The form also requires the page to have been open for at least three seconds, allows five attempts each hour from one network address and from one email address, and uses Vercel BotID on the live site. Those counts stay in server memory and are not saved as a profile.

Creating an account does not subscribe you to the newsletter.

Accounts

An account collects an email address and a password. Notion stores the email, a hash of the password, a theme choice of system, light, or dark, saved event ids, a newsletter checkbox, the time the account was created, the last login time, and a session version. The password itself is not stored. A new account sets the newsletter checkbox to unchecked, so creating an account does not subscribe you.

If you ask for a password reset, Notion stores a hash of the reset token and when it expires. The reset email contains the link. The token is not stored as plain text.

Signing in sets an httpOnly cookie named wc_session. It lasts 30 days, uses SameSite=Lax, and is marked Secure in production. Signing out clears it. Changing or resetting the password increases the session version so older cookies stop matching.

Account creation, sign-in, and password-reset requests use a hidden company field, wait until the page has been open for at least three seconds, and use Vercel BotID on the live site. Creation and reset requests allow five attempts each hour from one network address and from one email address. Sign-in allows eight attempts in fifteen minutes. Changing a password while signed in allows eight attempts in fifteen minutes. Changing the theme allows thirty saves a minute. Saving events allows sixty saves a minute. Those counts stay in server memory.

Cookies and this browser

A cookie named tp_theme stores light, dark, or system for one year so the colors can be applied before the page paints. The same choice is stored in this browser under texas-panhandle-theme.

Saved event ids for this browser are stored under panhandle-saved. When you are signed in, those ids can also be stored with the account in Notion.
